I am not sure if he is worried about the looming deadline of Christmas next week . . . but Sweetie is taking his yarn to work . . .everywhere.
Last night, I sat on the sofa, knitting of course, and looked over at him in the chair where he sits . . .
And he was KNITTING!
Could I have created a monster? Could my stash be in danger?
What have I done?!?!?!?!?

GASP! That’s right! THE STASH. I never considered what teaching loved ones to knit could do to the stash.
On the other hand, having another knitter around may help build the stash.
So maybe this will work for the benefit of the stash. An knitter can hope.

About a year ago I brought my DH over to the yarn side. He dosn’t knit (he claims to be rather intimidated by my “proficiency”. Ha! Snort!) but he weaves and he wants to learn to crochet. Out of fear for the sanctity of my stash, I took him out shopping for a little mini-stash of his own. I also started stacking and storing my stash more judiciously: the stuff in plain sight is what I privately refer to as the decoy yarn. The really valuable stuff is all discreetly packed behind or underneath other stuff. Since he seems to be congenitally incapable of finding anything in a cupboard or the fridge if it’s not either on the top or in the front, I find this a remarkably effective strategy to protect my fiber interests. (Okay – If he really wanted something I’d probably give it to him. But I know he won’t ask).
